Brief description of the organization
The Municipality of Izola is a coastal local government authority in Slovenia that works to support sustainable community development, protect cultural and natural heritage, and provide public services for its residents and visitors.
Our contribution to the RISTANC project
As a coastal municipality closely connected to the Northern Adriatic, the Municipality of Izola contributes to the RISTANC project by sharing local knowledge, community perspectives, and on‑the‑ground experience to support new approaches to the sustainable management of marine and coastal areas. Through its active involvement in the consortium, Izola helps turn local insights into practical examples that can inspire similar efforts across Europe. The municipality also plays an important role in supporting pilot activities and encouraging cooperation between different sectors to help achieve the EU mission of restoring our ocean and waters by 2030.
